Besiktas are intensifying their efforts to secure the transfer of Italian midfielder Jorginho from Premier League side Arsenal. The 32-year-old defensive midfielder has become a prime target for the Black Eagles as they look to bolster their squad.

Turkish news site Sabah report that Besiktas’ management are close to convincing Jorginho to make the move during the upcoming transfer window. Their aim is to bring the experienced player to Vodafone Park on a free transfer, as his contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the season.

Jorginho, known for his versatility in both the defensive midfield and central midfield positions, brings a wealth of experience and success to the table. His impressive trophy cabinet includes Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup titles, all won during his tenure with Chelsea.

The Italian international’s talent was recognized on a grand scale in 2021 when UEFA named him Player of the Year. That same year, Jorginho played a crucial role in Italy’s European Championship victory. His list of accolades also includes Italian Cup and Italian Super Cup triumphs from his time with Napoli.

Despite his age, Jorginho’s market value remains substantial at around 12 million euros, highlighting his continued relevance at the highest level of football.
