Udinese 0-3 Juventus: Player Ratings

Start

Juve routed Udinese in the first half with early goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa before Adrien Rabiot sealed the result with a well-timed header.

Udinese

Silvestri:  Rooted to the spot on the opener and could do nothing on Vlahovics’ clinial penalty but should have done better on Rabiot’s header. Poor. 4.5/10

Kabasele: Risky challenges and rightly picked up an early booking for a silly tackle. 5.0/10

Bijol: Struggled to deal with Vlahovic and Chiesa, with both players pulling him out of position on occasions. 5.0/10

Perez: The better of the back three, but that’s not saying much. 5.0/10

Ebosele: Decidedly average and regularly beaten by Cambiaso on the flanks. 5.0/10

Zarraga: Poor decision making on a promising move when he should have squared it to a teammate.  Only lasted 45 minutes.  4.5/10

Lovric: A surprisingly poor first half, regularly beaten to the ball, didn’t show any grit in the first half. Much better in the second 45′, firing a shot just wide of Szczesny’s far post before putting a header far of the near post. 5.5/10

Walace: Played a few nice balls to break the lines but lacked the intensity and looked off the pace at times. 5.0/10

Kamara: A very disappointing ’45 and rightly subbed out. 4.0/10

Beto: Decent effort from 30 yards out to test Szczesny, looked a good threat for the hosts at times. Fired over from a really good position when he should have scored. 6.0/10

Thauvin: Linked well with his striker partner, just lacked that final touch in the first half. Forced a good save from Szczesny as the 1st half came to a close. Did the same thing as the second half started. Udinese’s best threat. 6.0/10

Substitutions:

Samardzic: Immediately injected some intensity to the midfield play. 6.0/10

Zemura: 5.5/10

Success: 5.0/10

Ferreira: 5.5/10

Lucca: 5.5/10

Juventus

Szczesny: Solid. Came out at the right times, had the measure of the Udinese attack. Tested far more in the second half and made some decent saves. 7.0/10

Danilo: Started well, picked up an unfair booking for what looked a good tackle. Helped see out the game without any real issues. 6.5/10

Bremer: Quiet, which is generally an indicator of how well he has played. No muss, no fuss.  6.5/10

Sandro: Ok, as he always is. A stupid challenge earned him a needless booking but he helped close the match out.  6.0

Weah: A lot of pace and energy, just lacking in the final third. Picked up a knock and subbed off. 6.0/10

Locatelli: Already a much better performance compared to some of his games last season. Controlled things well, good in the air and in the tackle. 6.5/10

Rabiot: A measured start before popping up in the right place at the right time to head in Juve’s third. Picked up where he left off last season. Encouraging. 7.5/10

Miretti: Got into the right positions but his decision making let him down in the opening exchanges. Subbed off before the second half.  6.0/10

Cambiaso: Very direct from the start, nice linkup play with Vlahovic at times. Played inn a peach of a cross for Rabiot to convert. A lovely Juve debut. 7.5/10

Vlahovic: A nice assist to get things up and running and a clinical penalty from the spot. Made the right runs, looked a player with a point to prove, and he did that in spades.  8.0/10

Chiesa: Perfect run, perfect positioning, perfect finish. Great work for Juve’s opener. 7.5/10
