Umtiti: ‘I recognise myself in Lecce’s values’

Samuel Umtiti says he recognizes himself in Lecce’s values as a club following his high-profile loan move from Barcelona. The World Cup winner touched down yesterday and was met by a throng of Lecce supporters, reducing the Frenchman to tears:

Speaking to SportItalia in his first interview as a Lecce player, Umtiti explained his motivations for moving to newly-promoted Lecce:

I picked Lecce because they’ve met my expectations.

I have positive feelings and recognise myself in the club’s values. I feel well physically and mentally and I am so happy to be here. I want to put my quality and my positive mood at the team’s disposal.”
