Inter owner Steven Zhang is planning a future for the club which will include coach Simone Inzaghi. The former Lazio technician has kept the Nerazzurri in the title race and maintained the momentum of the club, following the departure of Antonio Conte and star striker Romelu Lukaku.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Nerazzurri president will be in the stands of Anfield after flying with the team to Liverpool for their Champions League match.
Gazzetta underlines the enormous harmony between Zhang and Inzaghi: a relationship that will probably still last a long time.
The harmony is ‘total’, strengthened by Inzaghi’s behaviour which Zhang has liked since the day they met. The ‘logical consequence’,, report Gazzetta, is that Inzagji’s contract will be extended until 2025, with an adequate salary to match.
Currently the coach earns €4.5 million and – according to Gazzetta – it will be brought above €5 million, net of bonuses.
Inter have collected €58 million from the Champions League alone and ‘great credit’ must be given to Inzaghi, who managed to take his team to the round of 16 after 10 years of absence.
