Patrick Vieira has emerged as a target for two Serie A clubs this summer with the managerial merry-go-round in full swing.
Italy’s elite soccer division will see a number of changes in the dugout this summer. Max Allegri has already replaced Sergio Conceicao at Milan and a number of vacancies are currently available.
Lazio confirmed the reappointment of Maurizio Sarri as head coach on Monday. The 66-year-old previously managed the Biancocelesti between 2021-2024.
Gian Piero Gasperini has left his post at Atalanta to replace Claudio Ranieri at Roma. Even the Italian press turned on Simone Inzaghi as the Inter boss admitted he ‘didn’t know’ about his long term future at the San Siro.
Juventus’ Igor Tudor appears like he’ll be moved on from Turin in the coming weeks. Cesc Fabregas’ exploits at Como haven’t gone unnoticed and Fiorentina’s Raffaele Palladino left the Viola in May.

Will Patrick Vieira Leave Genoa?
Patrick Vieira has done exceptionally well at Genoa after taking over the struggling Serie A side halfway through the 2024-25 campaign.
His long term future at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium is in doubt owing to his fine form for the Rossoblu. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano posted to his X account on Monday that Vieira is being tracked.
At the time of publication, it remains to be seen whether the former France international will leave his post. However, with so many managerial changes in Italy’s elite soccer division, his name is certainly in the mix.
Which Serie A Clubs Want Patrick Vieira?
According to GetFootballNewsItaly, the two Serie A clubs who are monitoring Patrick Vieira are Atalanta and Fiorentina. Both clubs have seen their head coaches leave their posts in recent weeks.
Gian Piero Gasperini waved goodbye to the Gewiss Stadium after nine years at the helm. The 67-year-old famously won the 2023-24 Europa League with the Nerazzurri.
Raffaele Palladino only managed the Viola for one season and interestingly, he is also on Atalanta’s shortlist to replace Gasperini in Bergamo.

Since joining Genoa in November 2024, Patrick Vieira has averaged 1.27 points per match in the 26 Serie A games he has been in charge at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.
Of those fixtures, Vieira oversaw eight wins, nine draws and suffered nine defeats. The Rossoblu finished 13th in the rankings after accumulating a total of 43 points.
Genoa actually ended up with a positive goal difference with Vieira at the helm (+1) and he earned a very credible 2-2 draw away at eventual Scudetto winners Napoli on GW36.

The best offshore sportsbooks have shortened the price on Patrick Vieira leaving Genoa in the off-season. Even though the Rossoblu are reportedly set to offer the Frenchman a new contract.
His current deal runs out in 12 months time but negotiations are understood to be underway. Despite Atalanta and Fiorentina’s extensive shortlist of managerial candidates, they will both be keeping an eye on how talks progress.
Vieira isn’t actively seeking to leave Genoa this summer but he’ll certainly want an improved deal with a considerable transfer budget to try and aim for a higher finish in Serie A for 2025-26.
