AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich icon, Thomas Muller, as the German is available on a free this summer.
Are AC Milan Interested In Thomas Muller?
The German star stunned the soccer world after announcing his departure from Bayern Munich, as he ended a 17-year career with the Bavarians.
During his time in Germany, the soccer icon made over 750 appearances for Bayern, contributing to 526 goals across all competitions (250G +276A).
Alongside these remarkable numbers, Muller has also obtained a substantial amount of silverware, winning 13 Bundesliga titles, six DFB Pokal trophies, two Champions Leagues and two FIFA Club World Cups.
His time as a Bayern Munich player was ultimately ended as the club decided not to extend his current deal and this has alerted multiple clubs around the globe.
Fiorentina were originally linked as the leading Italian side to sign the German this summer, however, Muller was reportedly uninterested in a move to Florence.
Now, seven-time Champions League winners and soccer giants, AC Milan, are said to be interested in offering the Bayern legend a one-year deal at the San Siro.
The Rossoneri have been extremely active in the opening stages of this summer transfer window, as Massimiliano Allegri begins his second spell in Milan.
The Serie A side are reportedly keen on another free agent in Sergio Reguilon and could make it two additions without any transfer fee with Muller.
Will Thomas Muller Retire?
Joining Milan is not the only possibility for Muller this summer, as a host of sides are looking to entice the German this summer and the striker has been heavily linked with a move to the MLS.
Los Angeles FC appears to be the favored destination going off recent reports, with the club offering Muller multiple additions to a typical soccer contract – including a mansion in Beverly Hills.
However, the German does not want to rush into anything and recently revealed in an interview with DAZN that the overall package has to be right or he may retire.
Muller said: “It’s actually quite simple: the overall package has to be right. At the same time, that’s tricky – what does the right package look like? Maybe I’ll just retire. Everything is still possible, and I’m not stressing about it.”
According to the best betting apps, the move to the MLS is more favorable than the idea of retirement and despite being 35-years-old, Muller still has a lot to offer.
The German has contributed to 16 goals in 48 appearances this summer, featuring regularly in Bayern’s FIFA Club World Cup run – scoring twice in the opening four matches.
