AC Milan Target Premier League Star After Heroic Performance In CONCACAF Gold Cup

Start

AC Milan are reportedly interested in West Ham star, Edson Alvarez, after the Mexican scored the winning goal in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final.

Do West Ham Want To Sell Edson Alvarez?

The Hammers midfielder ended the 2024/25 campaign with a bang, after the Mexican helped his nation win the CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 2-1 win against the USA.

Achieving this success could not have come at a better time as he ended the Premier League campaign poorly, starting just one of the final eight league matches and struggled with a back injury.

Graham Potter does not appear to be a huge fan of the Mexican international and reports have circulate over a move away from the London Stadium this summer.

This tricky relationship with Potter was amplified following an alleged dispute, after Alvarez reportedly refused to play against Southampton after a disagreement with the Hammers manager.

Alvarez’s deal with West Ham does not end until June 2027 and the Hammers would be looking for a significant fee for his services this summer, especially after the recent international success.

The Hammers are looking to offload multiple players this summer to adhere to PSR rules, with Mohammed Kudus being linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Tottenham are favorites to land the Ghanaian forward on the best betting apps and Alvarez could follow his former Ajax teammate with a move away.

A host of European sides have been linked with the 27-year-old including Borussia Dortmund and a reunion with former Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, at Bayer Leverkusen.

Prior to his move to West Ham, the Mexican international had been linked with a move to the Serie A, with AC Milan showing interest and this rumor has sparked once again.

Will AC Milan Sign Edson Alvarez?

The Rossoneri have already seen a host of change following their poor Serie A season, as Massimiliano Allegri take the reins in Milan for a second time.

So far, the seven-time Champions League winners have signed Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci, bolstering their midfield with a veteran superstar and an upcoming prospect.

Milan are also interested in signing Sergio Reguilon as a free agent after Theo Hernandez edges closer to an exit from Italy by joining Saudi Pro League side, Al Hilal.

Despite signing multiple midfielders this summer, the Rossoneri are reportedly keen on signing Edson Alvarez if the Italian side can agree a reasonable price.

Alvarez joined West Ham for around $40 million (including add-ons) and the Mexican has made 59 appearances in the Premier League, failing to impress in east London.

No official contact has been made between Milan and the West Ham star, but the Hammers may consider a lower fee if Potter sees no future for Alvarez.
