How Much It Costs Serie A-Loving Soccer Fans In The US To Attend A Game On The Opening Weekend Of The 2025-26 Season

Start

US soccer fans who share a love for Serie A will be eagerly awaiting the first games of the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.

Italy’s elite division is steadily growing in popularity throughout the Land of Opportunity. Not only does the league boast some of the world’s finest players, there are a number of Americans who have flourished in recent years.

The standout star is undoubtedly Christian Pulisic. ‘Captain America‘ currently represents Milan and was one of Serie A’s brightest performers in 2024-25.

Weston McKennie is another player with a fine reputation in Italian soccer. The Juventus star can play in almost any position on the pitch and has lifted three major honors during his time in Turin.

Tim Weah and Yunus Musah are also regulars in Serie A. However, the duo are set to leave Italy but that isn’t expected to diminish the fascination with Italian soccer from a US audience.

With the above in mind, here at FootItalia, we explored the entire cost of attending a select number of Serie A matches from the US on the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season.

What we will determine first is which US states have the highest interest in soccer. We will analyse the top five areas and dissect the entire cost of attending Serie A home games involving the biggest clubs in Italy from said states.

Which US States Have The Highest Interest In Soccer?

According to studies carried out last year, there were four million individual searches for soccer highlights in the US throughout 2023.

The vast majority of these searches came from coastal areas with large metropolitan populations. Claiming the top spot is the state of New Jersey.

There were approximately 175,000 searches each month across its 9.5million residents. The runner-up berth goes to California with 698,000 searches from it’s population of 39m.

Filling the final podium position is Florida. The Sunshine State generates an average of 397,000 soccer searches each month across 22.6m people.

Claiming fourth and fifth positions is Maryland and Texas. Therefore, we will use these five states as a basis to work out the cost of flying to Italy from the most popular/biggest airport in each area.
