Plenty of Serie A news outlets had reported that former Juventus sporting director, Fabio Paratici, appeared to be on the verge of taking up the same role at AC Milan last month. However, with that rumor now dead in the water, we explore where Paratici’s next role will be after his 30-month suspension officially came to an end this week.
Why Was Fabio Paratici Banned?
Fabio Paratici’s suspension from soccer activity came as a blow for employers Tottenham in 2023, who were directly affected by his felonious behavior at former club Juventus.
Paratici had overseen one of Juve’s most silverware-laden eras across an 11-year stint in Turin, and is credited for his role in transfers for Arturo Vidal, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, and most importantly, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Having initially been banned from holding office in any capacity in Italian soccer, FIFA extended the suspension worldwide, which in turn, jeopardized his role at Tottenham.
Paratici is one of 11 former Juventus executives who were accused of financial malpractice.
The Old Lady were accused of financial irregularities relating to false communications to the stock market, and obstruction of a supervisory authority (CONSOB).
Investigators uncovered artificially inflated transfer revenue, in order to mask Juve’s precarious finances.
More than $184 million in reported transfer revenue between 2019 and 2021 had been inflated in order to balance the books, according to prosecutors.
Juventus were handed an unprecedented 10-point deduction in 2023-24, which saw them miss out on Champions League qualification, and a significant chunk of potential revenue.
Paratici, and all of the Juventus directors involved, still vehemently deny any wrongdoing.
A bombshell return to Juventus appears impossible, despite the club still deep in their search for a new sporting director.
According to cash out betting sites, the Biaconeri are still some way behind Napoli and Inter in next season’s Scudetto race.
Is Fabio Paratici Returning to Tottenham?
Paratici’s ban from soccer activity has been somewhat ambiguous, given the Italian has been acting as a contracted consultant at Tottenham since his suspension in April 2023.
Paratici had been acting at Tottenham’s managing director, although the appointments of CEO, Vinai Venkatesham, and technical director, Johan Lange, may throw a spanner in the works as to his return.
His consultancy contract is nearing an end, and very little in the way of negotiations with Tottenham have been indicated.
However, the man himself said: “I never stopped thinking about football. I always felt part of this world, it’s my life.”
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has also reported Paratici will return to the sport in an official capacity “very soon.”

Reports in England reveal that the 52-year-old is eager to return to Tottenham in an official role, in order to help guide the club’s project under new manager Thomas Frank.
Paratici’s Italian connections were instrumental in bringing in recognized mainstays such as Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Rodrigo Bentancur and Destiny Udogie.
Earlier Serie A news reports of Paratici’s return to Serie A, specifically to AC Milan, were reportedly wide of the mark as the Rossoneri accelerate their own fresh project, with new sporting director, Igli Tare, at the helm.
