Thiago Silva Set For Sensational Milan Return In The Winter Transfer Window

The latest Thiago Silva transfer news has revealed the legendary centre-back could re-sign for Milan in the January transfer window. 

Silva turns 41-years-old later this month and is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders in the modern game. In fact, many consider him as one of the best of all-time.

The Brazilian currently plies his trade in his home country with Fluminense. Silva joined the Tricolor upon the expiry of his Chelsea contract in 2024.

Having spent the most money in Serie A this summer, Milan are already considering bringing Thiago Silva back to the San Siro in January.

Silva’s current deal runs out in June 2026 but Max Allegri is keen to get Silva on board in January. According to SempreMilan, it’ll likely be a six-month loan deal with an option to extend by a further year.

Allegri is keen to add more experience to his backline and sees Silva as a perfect fit. The 40-year-old previously played for the Rossoneri between 2009-2012.

As it stands, Fikayo Tomori is the oldest centre-back on the books aged 27. Hence why Allegri is keen to bring the veteran defender back to Italy to help guide the younger stars.

How Many Trophies Has Thiago Silva Won?

Not only is Thiago Silva blessed with a wealth of experience, he has won a number of club trophies throughout his career. That includes the Serie A title whilst playing under Max Allegri for Milan in 2010-11.

Silva also won the Supercoppa Italiana in 2011. However, his time with PSG was by far his most successful. Silva lifted seven Ligue 1 titles as well as the Coupe de France on five occasions.

Furthermore, Silva won the Coupe de la Ligue six times alongside the Trophee des Champions (5). He has also won the UEFA Champions League, too.

That success came when he played for Chelsea when the Blues beat Manchester City 1-0 in the 2021 finale. He would also go on to win the Super Cup and Club World Cup in the same year.

All in all, Silva has won a total of 29 trophies throughout his pro club career.

With Thiago Silva firmly in Milan’s sights, the Rossoneri could potentially make the veteran star their 11th signing of the season.

This summer, Max Allegri has welcomed the likes of Koni De Winter, Pervis Estupinan, Samuele Ricci, Ardon Jashari, Adrien Rabiot, Christoper Nkunku, David Odogu, Zachary Athekame and Pietro Terracciano to the San Siro.

Midfield maestro Luka Modric also signed in the middle of June after his contract with Real Madrid expired. The Croatian is one year younger than Silva and the two of them together would provide Allegri with the world class experience he desires.
