The Scudetto winners kicked-off the season with a 2-0 win over Sassuolo, thanks to goals from Scott McTominay and Kevin De Bruyne, before Frank Anguissa scored a last-minute winner against Cagliari in Napoli’s last league clash.

Although the attacking output has taken a hit in the absence of Romelu Lukaku, Napoli will be pleased with their defensive performances – keeping two clean sheets so far.

Fiorentina come into this match with a fairly full roster, but Stefano Pioli was hit with a slight blow during the international break as Albert Gudmundsson suffered an ankle injury with Iceland.

The 28-year-old has started in both league matches so far and contributed to seven Serie A goals last season – meaning La Viola will be hoping for a speedy recovery.

The international break also brought some concerning news to the Napoli side, as Amir Rrahmani has been ruled out for multiple weeks following a leg injury he suffered with Kosovo.

Romelu Lukaku has been ruled out until December, meaning Rasmus Hojlund could make his Napoli debut, while David Neres and Miguel Gutierrez are  set to miss out.
