The latest Artem Dovbyk transfer news has revealed that West Ham are set to reignite their interest in the Roma striker.
Dovbyk came close to leaving the Giallorossi this summer but a move away failed to materialize. Now, the English Premier League strugglers are planning a January swoop for the Ukraine international.
The Hammers have endured a difficult start to the 2025-26 campaign. Although head coach Graham Potter’s future is in doubt, the club is still keen on bringing Dovbyk in.
Artem Dovbyk Transfer News
In August, Roma striker Artem Dovbyk insisted he was happy at Roma and did not want to leave the capital. However, head coach Gian Piero Gasperini still had his reservations.
The former Atalanta boss was keen to raise cash to strengthen other areas of his roster. Dovbyk became a prime candidate to offload as he would have demanded a sizable fee.
Nonetheless, the Ukrainian stayed at the Stadio Olimpico amid interest from a number of clubs all over Europe. One of his keen admirers was West Ham and FootItalia sources have confirmed they are plotting a January bid.
Dovbyk has made four appearances in all competitions but has only 57 minutes of action to his name in Serie A. The 28-year-old made his first start of the season against Nice in the UEL but has failed to find the back of the net this season.
How Much Will Artem Dovbyk Cost West Ham?
When the transfer window re-opened in July, Besiktas were linked with Artem Dovbyk. The Turkish giants couldn’t match Roma’s valuation so negotiations came to a standstill.
It’s understood that the Giallorossi would command approximately €30-35million for Dovbyk. However, West Ham are also considering a loan deal if the two clubs can’t agree upon a fee for a permanent transfer.
The Hammers have lost four of their five Premier League games and have just five goals to their name. Only three clubs in England’s top-flight have scored less.
With that in mind, the Londoners have prioritized a genuine goalscorer and believe Dovbyk fits the bill. The only slither of doubt remains about head coach Graham Potter’s long-term future.
Whether Potter is at the London Stadium in January or not will not derail West Ham’s pursuit of Dovbyk. He scored 17 times last season and the year before, won LaLiga’s Golden Boot with Girona.
Artem Dovbyk Carrer Stats
Although Artem Dovbyk has struggled this season, he has a fine goalscoring record overall. The Ukrainian has lost his place to Evan Ferguson but may be afforded more game time in the coming weeks.
During his time with Roma, the 28-year-old has scored 17 times across 48 appearances in all competitions. His best individual season came at Dnipro-1 when he lashed home 29 goals in 39 outings.
However, his standout campaign came when he represented Girona. Dovbyk finished as the top scorer in Spain with an impressive 24 strikes – helping the Spaniards to third in the table and qualification for the UCL.
Overall, Dovbyk has made 276 career appearances and has scored 122 goals. Gian Piero Gasperini is still unsure whether to keep Dovbyk so West Ham is ready to pounce.
