According to the latest Roma transfer news, Artem Dovbyk wants to stay at the Stadio Olimpico this season.

Dovbyk’s long term future in the capital has been clouded in uncertainty after being told he could leave the Giallorossi earlier this summer.

Interest in the Ukrainian striker has been plentiful ever since he was put up for sale. The likes of Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leeds and West Ham are all keen on the 28-year-old.

Roma Transfer News

With Roma reportedly interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva, extra funds will need to be raised to help complete a deal for the 23-year-old.

And that is where Artem Dovbyk comes in. New head coach Gian Piero Gasperini isn’t convinced by the Ukrainian and wants to cash in.

Gasperini would be willing to let Dovbyk go for approximately €35million. That would generate a small profit on what the Giallorossi paid Girona for his services last summer.

If Dovbyk was forced out, a deal for Silva could be struck before the start of the new Serie A season. He would link up with Evan Ferguson who has joined on loan from Brighton.

What Clubs Are Interested In Artem Dovbyk?

Last month, we reported that Besiktas were interested in signing Roma striker Artem Dovbyk. That still remains the case but no formal bid has been received by the Turkish giants.

Elsewhere, the vast majority of potential suitors all come from the Premier League. On Wednesday (August 13), Everton had supposedly offered €42m for the Ukraine international.

However, it was confirmed that the Toffees had not made a bid. Interestingly, the Merseysiders and the Giallorossi are both owned by the Friedkin Group which would have raised a few eyebrows.

Leeds are still very much in the hunt alongside Crystal Palace and West Ham. Whispers from Tyneside have also emerged owing to Newcastle’s quest to replace wantaway star Alexander Isak.

Will Artem Dovbyk Stay At Roma?

As per reports on the RomaPress, Artem Dovbyk wants to stay and fight for his place. The 28-year-old is keen to win over Gian Piero Gasperini and earn his trust.

Dovbyk still may be forced out but he is willing to show supporters what he is made of. During his maiden campaign in Rome last year, the Ukrainian netted 17 times from 45 appearances in all competitions.

In 2023-24, Dovbyk finished as LaLiga top scorer when he scored 24 goals in Spain’s elite soccer division for Girona. The Blanquivermells finished third thanks to Dovbyk’s efforts.

Therefore, the powerful striker certainly knows where the target is. However, financial implications and Gasperini’s uncertainty may provide the catalyst for Dovbyk’s exit. Despite him not wanting to quit.
