The UEFA Women’s Champions League kicks-off on October 7th, as Juventus host Benfica and you can find a full preview, prediction, possible lineups and betting tips below.

Juventus (W) vs Benfica (W) Preview

The Juventus Women’s team enjoyed a successful 2024/25 campaign, winning the league and cup double (Serie A Femminile and Coppa Italia) – making it six league titles in eight seasons.

This level of performance has been brought into the 2025/26 season, with the Bianconere winning the newly created Serie A Women’s Cup after beating Roma in the final.

However, one competition that has thwarted Max Canzi is the UEFA Women’s Champions League, as Juventus have failed to progress past the quarter finals since their entrance to the sport in 2017.

Last season, the Bianconere were eliminated from the UWCL group stages after finishing third in Group C, which included Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Valerenga.

Juve come into this match with a point to prove after a disappointing 0-0 draw with Sassuolo, as Canzi’s side failed to find the target despite boasting an xG of 2.25.

Juventus are set to go through some changes in the coming weeks, which is set to impact both the male and female side as Juve are set to appoint a new club president.

The Bianconere’s upcoming European opponents have also dominated their respective league, as Benfica have won the Campeonato Nacional Feminino for five consecutive seasons.

The 2025/26 season has followed a similar trend for Benfica so far, picking up two wins and one draw from their opening three league matches – conceding just one goal along the way.

Last year, Benfica failed to qualify for the UWCL after a surprising 3-2 aggregate defeat to Hammarby and the Portuguese side are looking to replicate their run to the quarter finals in 2023/24.

Juventus (W) vs Benfica (W) Prediction

These two sides have never met in a competitive match-up, despite both taking part in multiple Champions League campaigns in recent seasons.

Juventus have been hugely successful in Italy, however, Benfica have also dominated the sport in their respective nation and will be eager to prove a point on October 7th.

We believed that the Italian side will utilize their home advantage on October 7th and pick up a hard-fought victory over Benfica to kick-start their European run.

Prediction: Juventus (W) 3-1 Benfica (W)

Juventus (W) vs Benfica (W) Possible Lineups

Juventus (W): De Jong; Cascarino, Calligaris, Kullberg; Thomas, Brighton, Rosucci, Krumbiegel; Bonansea, Girelli, Cambiaghi

Benfica (W): Pauels; Amado, Gomes, Costa, Lund; Almeida, Gaspar; Davidson, Moller, Alves; Martin-Prieto

Juventus (W) vs Benfica (W) Betting Tips

Both Teams To Score: -138

The Juventus Women’s team were the most prolific team in Serie A Femminile last season, scoring 51 goals in 18 matches, with Cristiana Girelli scoring 19 goals.

Many have compared the veteran Italian striker to Juve striker, Dusan Vlahovic, despite the Serbian being linked with a move to Bayern Munich and Girelli is expected to lead the line after sitting on the bench for the Bianconere’s last fixture.

Benfica have also been prolific in front of goal, scoring 13 goals in their opening three league matches this season and are coming off an 8-0 victory over Damaiense.
