Andrew Robertson is reportedly considering a move to Serie A, as the Scottish international’s deal with Liverpool expires in June 2026.

Will Andrew Robertson Sign New Liverpool Contract?

The 31-year-old is said to be considering his options as his Liverpool contract is set to expire in June 2026 and talks over a renewed deal are yet to begin.

Robertson’s future in the Liverpool side was called into question during the summer transfer window as the Reds signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth who is 10-years younger than the Scotsman.

Since signing for Liverpool in July 2017, Robertson has become one of the best left-backs in Premier League history, making 348 appearances for the Reds and winning two Premier Leagues, two Carabao Cups, FA Cup, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.

His performances on the left-hand side mirrored the quality shown on the other side by Trent Alexander-Arnold and proved to be a crucial duo under Jurgen Klopp.

Although Robertson’s best days came under the former Liverpool boss, the Scottish defender still played a huge part in Arne Slot’s debut season and started 29 matches in Liverpool’s run to the Premier League title.

However, there have been no talks over an extended deal with the Merseyside-based club and Robertson could be out of contract in June 2026 – similar to a host of players in England.

John Stones could also see his deal in the Premier League come to an end next year and the Englishman has attracted interest from Inter Milan.

Robertson’s situation is slightly different as he was close to leaving Liverpool during the summer window, as the 31-year-old had genuine negotiations with Atletico Madrid.

His move to Spain failed to materialize and Robertson returned to Liverpool, where he has played a secondary role for Arne Slot this season with no starts in the league so far.

Given his lack of playing time, Robertson could be looking for a new place to call home this summer and the Scotsman may be heading to Serie A.

The Scottish international is said to be earning around €185,000 per week at Liverpool and is aware that he would need to take a slight cut in pay if he moves on next year.

There have been slight murmurs over a return to Scotland to close out his career, but at 31-years-old, Robertson still has a lengthy career left ahead of him and may look to move outside of the United Kingdom.

One possibility for the Liverpool star is a move to Italy, as a host of Serie A sides are believed to be huge admirers and Roma are reportedly the front-runners.

Gian Piero Gasperini has hit the ground running in the Italian capital, sitting second in Serie A and level on points with table-topping Napoli – winning five out of the six league matches so far.

The Giallorossi’s business during the summer window was far from ground-breaking, with Leon Bailey signing from Aston Villa on loan and getting injured in his first training session.

Gasperini was very vocal about the need for more additions and if the Giallorossi continue their strong rum of form, the veteran manager should receive further backing next summer.

Roma have not entered negotiations with the Reds, but the Serie A side will be able to do so in January as Robertson will have under six-months remaining of his current contract.
