Juventus Have Not Given Up Hope Of Landing England Defender Marc Guehi

Marc Guehi is firmly on Juventus’ radar as the Bianconeri aim to increase their defensive options under Luciano Spalletti. 

The recently-appointed head coach has been tasked with returning the glory days to the Old Lady. In order to achieve his aim, the wily old boss wants to bring Guehi on board.

However, a number of clubs are chasing the England and Crystal Palace star ahead of the January transfer window. Competition is fierce, but the Serie A giants believe they are very much in the running to land his signature.

Marc Guehi Transfer Latest

In October, it was reported that Inter Milan was tracking Marc Guehi. It’s understood that the Nerazzurri’s interest has cooled slightly whereas Juventus’ intrigue has increased.

As it stands, the favorites to land Guehi are English Premier League side Liverpool. The Reds came mightily close to signing the 25-year-old in the summer but were unable to get the deal over the line.

Arne Slot’s side is keen to add defensive reinforcements and are keen to get Guehi on board. It’s not known what club Guehi favors as his deal at Palace enters its final leg.

That has given Juve renewed hope that they could lure him to Serie A. From January 1, Guehi can start negotiating with clubs from outside of England and the Bianconeri are set to speak to his entourage.

Another side on the continent who will throw their name into the mix is Barcelona. The LaLiga champions have reportedly made two approaches to Guehi’s camp.

Will Marc Guehi Leave In January?

According to Football Insider, Marc Guehi will not try to navigate a move away from Crystal Palace in January. He remains fully committed to the 2025 FA Cup winners.

However, Palace are bracing themselves for a number of bids which will test the Eagles and Guehi’s resolve. But as it stands, a summer transfer is perhaps the more likely outcome.

Juve’s best chances are trying to pin Guehi down on a pre-contract agreement. Admittedly, it’s fairly rare for players to do that in the modern era but it’s not completely unheard of.

Something that will hinder the Bianconeri is their financial position. Even more so if they sign Atalanta full-back Marco Palestra next month.

Cash is tight in Turin and Guehi’s wage demands are expected to be on par with some of the club’s top earners. Nonetheless, it is something that can be navigated if players quit the Old Lady in the coming weeks.
