Inter Milan are reportedly willing to go head-to-head with Liverpool over the signing of Crystal Palace defender, Marc Guehi.

Is Marc Guehi Joining Liverpool?

Marc Guehi was within touching distance of a move to Liverpool during the 2025 summer transfer window, as the Englishman look set to join the Reds.

However, despite agreeing personal terms with the Premier League champions, Guehi’s move to Merseyside collapsed on the final day of the window as Liverpool were not willing to meet Crystal Palace’s asking price.

Arne Slot’s side were not willing to spend around €40 million on the 25-year-old, as his contract with the Eagles is set to expire in June 2026 and Guehi will be available as a free agent.

Liverpool will be facing some regrets over missing out on the Crystal Palace captain, especially after the Reds suffered three consecutive defeats across all competitions and dropped down to second in the Premier League.

Slot’s defensive set-up has been heavily criticized this season, with Andrew Robertson now being linked with a move to Serie A and the Dutchman is yet to find his perfect lineup after a host of summer signings.

The Reds brought in Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong, who have all been brought in to cement a place in the starting eleven.

Another player that was brought in by Arne Slot was Italian youngster, Giovanni Leoni, who suffered an ACL injury during his debut against Southampton and will miss the remainder of this season.

Leoni’s absence could force the Reds into a defensive signing during the January window, as the Reds are not spoiled for options in the central defensive area.

Liverpool are still the front-runners to sign Guehi, however, the Reds are no longer the only interested party and Inter Milan are reportedly preparing a more tempting offer.

Could Inter Milan Sign March Guehi?

During the summer transfer window Liverpool were the leading party in the race for Guehi’s signature, but missing out has allowed other teams around Europe to enter the competition.

One side that could make a more tempting offer is Inter Milan, as the Nerazzurri are reportedly willing to offer Yann Bisseck in a swap deal during the January window.

The German defender has struggled to cement his place under Cristian Chivu and Bisseck has been linked with a January exit – making him a strong inclusion in the Guehi deal.

Interestingly, Bisseck had the opportunity to join Crystal Palace during the summer, however, the 24-year-old turned the Eagles down and signed for the Nerazzurri.

Chivu added multiple centre backs to his side before the 2025/26 season, but is now looking to bring in Guehi after the Brit’s impressive spell at Selhurst Park.

The 25-year-old has made 167 appearances for the Eagles since signing from Chelsea in July 2021, guiding Palace to FA Cup glory – winning the first major trophy in club history.
