Giorgio Chiellini Reveals Next Step As Juventus Search For Kenan Yildiz Contract Resolution

Giorgio Chiellini has provided an update over Kenan Yildiz as Juventus look to extend the Turkish star’s contract in Turin.

Kenan Yildiz has been one of the standout players in Serie A this season, but the 20-year-old is yet to agree a new deal with Juventus and talks have been stagnant for multiple weeks.

The Turkish international has contributed to 13 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions (6G + 7A) and is currently enjoying his best run of form with the Bianconeri – registering six goals involvements in five matches.

However, there is still an underlying issue for both Juve and Yildiz, as negotiations over a new deal have failed to progress after the youngster’s salary demands.

Yildiz and his team are requesting a raise to €6million per season, which has been rejected by Juventus as the Serie A side are not willing to exceed €5m.

The Bianconeri’s financial situation has been a repeated issue in recent years, as Juventus’ owners rejected a €1.2bn offer from Tether, as the company looks to complete a full ownership purchase.

Director of Football Strategy at Juventus, Giorgio Chiellini, has provided an update on the clubs’ negotiations with Yildiz and revealed that Juve are not in a rush to extend the Turkish star’s contract.

Chiellini said: “Kenan is important for us. He has a long-term contract. It’s not something that can be resolved in a week, but the common desire is to move forward together.

“There’s no urgency because his contract isn’t expiring in six months. We’re aware of the lad’s value, and we want to extend his contract in a manner befitting his status.”

This laid back approach could come back to haunt the Italian side, as a host of Premier League sides are reportedly interested in signing Yildiz next year.

Premier League Giants Prepare Yildiz Bid

Yildiz was heavily linked with a move away from Turin during the recent summer transfer window, attracting interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

A deal failed to materialize and the youngster returned to Juventus for another season, but Arsenal are reportedly ready to reignite their interest next year.

The Gunners currently sit top of both the Premier League and Champions League after an impressive start to the season and Arteta is keen on strengthening his roster to maintain their place at the top of English soccer.

Arsenal signed a list of quality players last summer including three players that fill the attacking spaces that relate to Yildiz – bringing in Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres.

Another possible destination for Yildiz could be Manchester United, as Napoli continue talks with Kobbie Mainoo and this would free up space at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has struggled during his time in Manchester, but there has been signs of improvement this season and Champions League qualification is a real possibility.

Earning a spot in Europe’s elite competition would be pivotal for the Red Devils if they were to pursue Yildiz, as the Turkish star will only join a side with UCL status.
