Italian Media All Saying The Same Thing About Rasmus Hojlund As Napoli Win Supercoppa

Although David Neres was the star of the show for Napoli in their Supercoppa Italiana triumph over Napoli, the likes of Rasmus Hojlund also impressed on the night.

And now, both have got their hands on yet another trophy at Napoli.

Corriere dello Sport matched that view, awarding Hojlund 7.5 in Alberto Polverosi’s report.
“He’s a complete centre-forward,” wrote Polverosi.
“In the sense that he has everything, absolutely everything, to play at the heart of the Italian champions’ attack, and he proved it in this match.
“He has strength, technique, intelligence, and tactical awareness.
“If you launch him deep, no one can stop him; if you look for him to lay off, he’ll give you a clean pass.
“Heggem just can’t keep up with him. His only flaw this evening: he missed a clear goal.”

Likewise, Tuttosport – who also went with 7.5 for Hojlund – had similar things to say about Hojlund.
“Lukaku’s performance against Milan galvanized him and convinced him of what he can do with his athleticism,” they wrote.
“He provides depth, brings the team forward, plays with clever passes and touches.
“In a word: complete. All he needs is a goal.”
Eurosport, who gave Hojlund a 7 out of 10, described him as “always on point, always dangerous.”
That is what “complete” looked like in the final: he pinned defenders, connected midfield, ran channels, and stretched Bologna’s line.

Hojlund thriving under Conte matters beyond the obvious.
Alongside winning trophies, his return to form signals Napoli can be a destination that resets careers, rather than ending them like some other clubs.
Hojlund’s work-rate, aggression and confidence have returned quickly following his departure from Manchester United.
It’s a similar story with McTominay: unimpressive at Old Trafford, he has become a titan at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
For Napoli, that reputation is priceless. It widens the market to players needing a fresh start, not just finished products.
Players and agents will all be too aware of how Napoli are the place to be. Perfect timing too, with the transfer window opening soon.
