Milan Eye Oumar Solet As Transfer Battle Brews With Chelsea And Tottenham
The Udinese star is in high demand ahead of the January transfer window.
Udinese centre-back Oumar Solet is attracting English Premier League attention, with Chelsea, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and West Ham all tracking him.
Inter, Milan and Roma joined by Premier League giants in Oumar Solet pursuit
The English Premier League quintet have joined Serie A trio Inter, AC Milan and Roma in the race for Solet, according to TEAMtalk.
Solet, 25, has started all 17 of Udinese’s Serie A matches this season, helping them record four clean sheets.
The Frenchman joined Udinese from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2025, and has quickly become a key player at the back.
However, with his contract running until the summer of 2027, clubs across Italy and Europe are starting to take an interest.
Chelsea, Tottenham and Palace have reportedly been sending scouts to monitor Solet’s performances for the Zebrette.
The Blues are looking at centre-back options because of injuries and squad reshaping, and Solet is seen as a contender to compete for starts.
Meanwhile, Spurs manager Thomas Frank is reportedly eager for extra competition at centre-back after a mixed start to his tenure.
As for Crystal Palace, their interest in Solet is framed around uncertainty over Marc Guehi’s future.
Finally, Manchester United and West Ham are reportedly “long-term admirers” of the former France youth international.
Serie A rivals wait in the wings
Udinese’s Italian rivals Inter, Milan and Roma are also said to have taken a big interest in Solet.
Meanwhile, Napoli were eyeing Solet earlier this year, though it appears that their interest has waned.
His Serie A debut for Udinese came in January 2025, when he said it was “just the beginning”.
Inter’s interest makes the most tactical sense, because they are planning a defensive refresh around an ageing core.
The likes of Francesco Acerbi, Stefan de Vrij and Matteo Darmian are all approaching contract crossroads, with Inter likely to revamp at the back.
Solet fits a back-three profile, with the pace and aggression to defend wide spaces and step into midfield. This is key in Inter’s set-up.

Milan’s angle is different. They have cycled through centre-back pairings and have been linked with another athletic defender to improve their depth.
Roma’s need is more immediate. Reports say Gian Piero Gasperini wants another central defender because options behind Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka and Mario Hermoso are thin.
Therefore, a ready-made Serie A defender like Solet would be an attractive solution who could hit the ground running for the Giallorossi.
How quickly this becomes a transfer race may come down to Udinese’s stance and valuation.
TEAMtalk cited Italian reports suggesting the club would seek around €40m.
For now, the interest is building, and Solet is likely to continue courting attention from Italy and England.
