Santiago Castro Open To January Exit Amid Premier League and LaLiga Interest
Despite targeting a move in the summer, Santiago Castro could be leaving Bologna in January.

Santiago Castro is open to a January move away from Bologna after attracting interest from the Premier League and LaLiga.
Premier League Giants Target Santiago Castro
The Bologna star ended a five-game goals drought during his side’s 3-1 defeat by Inter Milan at the San Siro and has caught the eye of Premier League sides once again.
Castro has become one of the hottest prospects in Europe since signing for Bologna in January 2024, as the 21-year-old has registered 27 goal contributions in 77 appearances for the Serie A side (17G + 10A).
A move away during the January transfer window appeared to be unlikely as Bologna are planning on keeping the Argentine for the remainder of this season.
However, this has become increasingly more likely after interest from Premier League side Chelsea, but this interest was largely down to Enzo Maresca – who was recently sacked by the Blues
The former Chelsea boss is favorite to become the next Manchester United manager after Ruben Amorim’s dismissal and this could bring the Red Devils into the equation.
Chelsea are still the front-runners to land the Bologna star, but the Blues are looking into a deal during the current transfer window as opposed to the summer.
Castro is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, however this could change after rumors over a growing interest from LaLiga.
Santiago Castro Open To LaLiga Switch
Bologna signed Santiago Castro for around €13million and his deal in Italy does not expire until June 2028 – meaning Bologna are looking for around €40-50m.
Despite this hefty price tag, Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering a bid for the Argentine striker as Roma target Giacomo Raspadori.
The Italian has failed to make an impact in the Spanish capital since signing in the recent summer window and Diego Simeone has given the green light to offload Raspadori this month.
If the former Napoli star does move on, then Atletico will be on the hunt for a new forward that play a secondary role behind Julian Alvarez.
According to reports, Castro is leaning towards a Premier League switch and Atletico would have to make a substantial offer to move ahead of Chelsea.
