Juventus Push For Oscar Mingueza With Near-Double Wages And Cut-Price Proposal

Juventus are preparing a new offer for Celta Vigo full-back Oscar Mingueza that would see his wages nearly doubled, according to reports.
Speculation linking Juventus and Mingueza began earlier in January, and things seem to be moving forward quickly on this front.
The Bianconeri are spinning several plates at present. Juventus want Federico Chiesa, while Marcos Senesi is also the subject of talks.
Among these, the path to the Celta Vigo defender has reportedly accelerated significantly in the last few hours.
According to reports from Italy, Juventus have made initial contact to try to bring him to Turin ahead of schedule during the winter transfer window.

Juventus believe an agreement with Oscar Mingueza is close, with a four-year contract reported as part of the plan.
New Juventus director Marco Ottolini has been in Spain to push negotiations forward.
Mingueza’s contract situation is a major factor, with his current Celta deal expiring in 2026.
That opens the door to a summer exit, but Celta still have leverage now, and could demand a fee to let him leave mid-season.

The Bianconeri’s proposal is believed to be around €3m. This would include a 50% interest in the future resale right still held by Barcelona.
As for Mingueza, he has reportedly been offered a four-year contract worth just over €1m per season.
This would see him almost double his wages from his current salary of around €600,000 per campaign.
How Juventus can convince Celta Vigo to sell Oscar Mingueza
Celta’s hesitation on the Oscar Mingueza deal is partly financial, due to Barcelona being due 50% of any transfer fee.
That sell-on percentage can push Celta to hold firm on a price, because they’d only keep half the money.
That is why Juventus may be trying to strike a deal that works for Celta without paying close to the full clause.
In addition, Celta are reportedly looking to extend his contract.
If they sell him now, that opportunity disappears. But if they keep him until the summer, it gives them several more months to try their luck.
Why Juventus want to sign Oscar Mingueza
Juventus like Oscar Mingueza because he is experienced, versatile, and would reduce reliance on a small number of options in wide defensive roles.
Mingueza, 26, has impressed in La Liga, becoming a regular for Celta, and can play as a right-back, wing-back or centre-back.
There is also competition. Reports have linked Mingueza with clubs in England, which could push Juventus to move first.
