AC Milan Miss Out On Signing ‘Deadly’ €35m Forward – But New Striker Is Close
The teenager is set to move to the Premier League instead.
AC Milan look set to miss out on the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Rayan.
AC Milan Target Rayan Close To Joining Bournemouth
Rayan is closing in on joining Bournemouth despite being on Milan’s radar, according to journalist Daniele Longo.
The Vasco da Gama forward is wanted by a host of elite clubs across Europe this month, but has already reached an agreement with the Premier League side over a five-year contract.
Now, the transfer fee must be thrashed out. Bournemouth are willing to pay €35m, but Vasco are said to want closer to €50m. Further talks are planned, aimed at reaching a compromise.
An offer from Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg was rejected earlier in the transfer window, while Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United have also been linked with the prodigy.
Rayan has scored 23 goals in 98 games in Brazil and looks ready to take the next step up in his burgeoning career.
He has been described as “deadly” by Como first-team scout Ben Mattinson, and has played 11 times already for Brazil’s Under-20s.
His contract is set to run down in December 2026, leaving Vasco vulnerable in the event of a significant offer.
It is not known whether Milan had mounted their own push.
However, the Serie A giants are closing in on a new striker regardless.
Milan Step Up Andrej Kostic Talks
According to Calciomercato, Milan are pushing hard to sign young Partizan Belgrade ace Andrej Kostic. It has been suggested that a deal could be wrapped up as early as next week.
Renewed contact aimed at reaching an agreement has been made with the Serbian club. There remains a gap between both parties, though, with Milan offering €4m plus €1m in bonuses.
Partizan are holding out for a bigger fee, valued at just below €10m.
Intriguingly, Kostic’s agent is Darko Ristic, who also represents Dusan Vlahovic, a Milan target for next summer.
The Rossoneri are prepared to mount an ambitious swoop to snap him up on a free transfer.
