Inter are preparing a bumper new contract offer for Francesco Pio Esposito after his superb season so far.
The 20-year-old’s stock has risen quickly after his late winner against Lecce helped Inter become ‘winter champions’.
Italian reports say Premier League interest is growing, and Inter’s response is to move early with improved terms.
Esposito already renewed last year, signing a deal that runs to June 2030, but Inter are said to be ready to upgrade it again.
Inter ready to more than double Pio Esposito wages
Inter are working on an extension to 2031 with a big salary increase for Pio Esposito, according to Tuttosport.
The Nerazzurri reportedly held initial discussions with agent Mario Giuffredi to try to secure Esposito’s signature by the spring.
In addition to a contract extension, Esposito is also in line to more than double his wages.
His salary, currently just over €1m, would more than double to €2.5m per season, with the possibility of it reaching €3m thanks to bonuses.
This move by Inter was made inevitable, according to the Italian newspaper, by pressure from major European clubs.
Several scouts from across Europe – especially England – have reportedly arrived at San Siro to monitor him closely.

Esposito’s decisive moment against Lecce capped off a brilliant first half of the season for player and club.
His physical presence, sharp movement, and calm finishing under pressure are just what Inter need for now and for the future.

In addition, Esposito has already broken into Italy’s senior set-up, which tends to increase attention from abroad.
Inter’s wider strategy is to protect core assets early, especially when English clubs can offer higher fees and wages.
For Esposito, a new deal would be a reward for impact and consistency, plus a sign Inter trust him as part of their future.
And Inter would send a signal of intent, namely that the ‘winter champions’ hero is here to stay.
