Atalanta and Roma Monitor Tottenham Hotspur Star As Brazilian Seeks Summer Exit

Atalanta and Roma are reportedly monitoring Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison as the Brazilian considers a move to Serie A.

Richarlison’s deal in North London is set to expire at the end of the 2026/27 campaign and the lack of negotiations over a new deal have alerted a host of European sides.

The Brazilian has faced heavy scrutiny since joining Spurs in July 2022, as the 28-year-old has scored 28 goals in 121 appearances and played a secondary role to Dominic Solanke.

Thomas Frank has utilized Richarlison due to Dominic Solanke’s injury issues, however the Brazilian has missed Spurs’ last two matches with a hamstring problem and Solanke scored in his first game back on January 20th.

With Solanke now back in the picture, Richarlison’s place in the starting eleven is in huge jeopardy and the Brazilian international could move on this summer.

Atalanta are currently leading the race to land Richarlison’s signature this summer, as La Dea continue to rise up the Serie A table.

Raffaele Palladino has made a strong impression during his opening months in charge and the Italian will be rewarded in the summer if La Dea qualify for the Champions League.

The Bergamo-based side have also struggled to find a regular center-forward this season, with Gianluca Scamacca and Nikola Krstovic scoring just five league goals each.

Atalanta are set to be boosted towards the end of the season as Ademola Lookman nears a new deal in Italy – but this will not deter the Serie A side from making a move for the Tottenham star.

Roma are on the hunt for a new talisman as Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson continue to struggle in the Italian capital and the Giallorossi have identified Richarlison as a possible target.

However, the Italian side may be deterred by Tottenham’s €35-40million price tag, especially as Evan Ferguson’s future remains in the balance.

Roma Seek Evan Ferguson Replacement

The Giallorossi have struggled to find the back of the net this season and Evan Ferguson has received a host of criticism for his performances.

The Irish international has scored just three Serie A goals and Roma are considering the financial implications of signing Ferguson permanently or terminating his loan.

Any transfer business will need to be done shrewdly as Roma look to build a new home stadium and Gian Piero Gasperini will need to narrow down his list of priorities.

When asked about Ferguson’s future, Gian Piero Gasperini gave an interesting response and the Roma boss did not appear to have a definitive answer.

Gasperini said: “I’ll just say that he’s a player who has recovered from a heavy knock he suffered in the last home match, and therefore, he will be available tomorrow (January 22nd).

“As of today, he is a Roma player, and every opportunity is useful to provide good performances. Lately, he has shown positive things, also scoring a couple of important goals”

Ferguson is currently on a season-long loan in the Italian capital and the Giallorossi can sign the Irishman permanently for around €37m.
