Nottingham Forest have quickly made a breakthrough for Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca, with the player flying to England today for his medical.
Speculation linking Forest and Lucca had been intensifying in recent weeks, though it seemed touch-and-go at times.
Lucca preferred an Italy stay, seemingly making Pisa the frontrunners. But today, things changed drastically.
Napoli preferred Forest’s bid, because they offered an option to buy. Meanwhile, Pisa were ‘sidelined’ due to their straight loan option.
Then, Lucca’s stance on Forest changed over the course of the day, putting the Reds firmly in the driver’s seat.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has shared the big development – namely the “here we go”.

Fabrizio Romano declared “here we go” on Lorenzo Lucca to Nottingham Forest on Thursday afternoon.
He claimed that the Reds would pay Napoli €1m to begin with, for Lucca to join on loan until the end of the season.
Then, should Lucca shine at Forest, they have the option to buy him for €40m. This is not mandatory, added Romano.
And just to show how quickly the deal is moving, the transfer insider said Lucca will be making his way to England today for his medical.

David Ornstein of The Athletic also corroborated Romano’s report, saying Lucca will be flying from Naples this evening.
Why Napoli are already offloading Lorenzo Lucca
Napoli signed Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese in the summer on an initial loan, paying €9m up front and agreeing an obligation to buy.
That obligation was for €26m plus €5m in add-ons, and it became active once Napoli earned their first league points of 2026.
However, Lucca has not matched that price tag with his performances, which has increased pressure on both player and club.
The 25-year-old has started only four Serie A games, scoring once, and he has fallen steadily down the pecking order.
Napoli have grown frustrated with Lucca’s performances, especially with Romelu Lukaku only just back from injury.
Now, it looks as though the Partenopei have decided to cash in, with a nice profit on the cards if Lucca shines at Forest.
