Ivan Perisic has seen his attempts to join Inter blocked by PSV Eindhoven, according to reports from Italy.

Speculation linking Perisic and Inter has been intensifying in recent days ahead of the January transfer window deadline.

Inter have made an official offer to the Dutch club, but PSV have not given permission to complete the deal.

Perisic wants an Inter return, and the Nerazzurri hope that the player’s desire can still shift the talks.

Ivan Perisic: Inter the only team he would leave PSV for

Ivan Perisic was the subject of talks between Inter and PSV on Thursday afternoon.

However, La Repubblica have reported that, despite Inter making an offer, PSV have ‘blocked’ the move for now.

Italian journalist Simone Togna has corroborated the information on X.

He described the outcome as “black smoke”, a reference to when a new Pope is in the process of being elected but a decision has not yet been made.

PSV consider Perisic “too important” to let go mid-season, sespite the player, his agents, and Inter pushing for a return to Italy.

“In the coming days, new attempts, but for now it’s a no,” concluded Togna.

Togna then wrote on FC Inter News that Perisic reiterated, through his representative, that Inter is a different kind of team for him.

Perisic would never have considered asking to be transferred elsewhere except his former club, added the Italian journalist.

Ivan Perisic and Inter may have been let down for now, but the story is not over yet.

Simone Togna claimed that Perisic’s agents will remain in Eindhoven over the coming days in hope of pushing a move through.

There is clear interest from the player and from his suitors, for whom he is already a legend.

Time is running out, but Perisic and Inter are intent on getting this deal over the line.
