Inter Transfer Market Talks Continue as Right Winger Search Remains Open. Perisic Top of the List
Inter hold internal talks as the window nears its end, with the right winger role still the main area under evaluation.
Inter Transfer Market Meetings at Viale della Liberazione
Yesterday, Christian Chivu was spotted at the club’s headquarters on Viale della Liberazione, where he met with the Nerazzurri’s top execs to chat about transfer market strategies.
This wasn’t a one-off visit either: the Romanian coach has been in and out of the club a few times in recent weeks, which shows there’s constant dialogue and a shared approach between the technical staff and management.
Katherine Ralph was also there to chat about financial strategies and growth prospects.
There’s still some discussion going on about the right-back and young players, and they’re trying to sort out a deal for Mlacic again.
Right Winger Search Still the Priority
The right winger remains the hot topic, which we see as a priority if a concrete opportunity arises.
So, during the talks, Ivan Perišić was up for discussion again as a potential experienced solution for the wing.
Even though they usually deny it, the Nerazzurri headquarters still discuss the Croatian winger’s name.
President Giuseppe Marotta cleared things up himself, chatting to Sky Sport before the match against Arsenal:
“Perisic? This transfer market is pretty poor to be honest, there’s nothing here that could improve the quality of the squad. We’re always on the lookout, but right now there’s nothing that’s quite right for us. We’ll have to wait and see what happens over the next few days. There’s no need to get involved. Also, Dumfries is speeding up his recovery and will be back on his feet soon.”
Chivu, Marotta and the Club’s Strategy
The transfer market was not discussed at this meeting. The focus was on financial strategies.
However, there was no shortage of daily updates on negotiations in talks with Marotta himself and Piero Ausilio.
It is no secret that Inter are looking for a right-back to partner Dumfries, with the not-so-remote prospect of selling Luis Henrique to England or Turkey.
In recent weeks, other options have offered themselves to Ausilio, such as Argentina’s Molina from Atlético and Belgium’s Meunier from Lille.
However, Chivu has rejected these because he wants a quality winger and not an attacking full-back.
On the youth front, negotiations have reopened for Croatian defender Mlacic, who will remain at Hajduk until June.
