Davide Frattesi Edges Closer To Inter Milan Exit As Nottingham Forest Ramp Up Pursuit

Davide Frattesi is set to leave Inter Milan this month with Nottingham Forest his most likely destination. 

The English Premier League strugglers are understood to be the leading candidates to sign the Inter and Italy midfielder.

Head coach Sean Dyche is a long-term admirer and appears to have won the race for his signature. According to SempreInter, Frattesi will move to the City Ground on loan.

However, league rivals Newcastle haven’t given up hope of landing the 26-year-old. La Republica insists a temporary move is the only viable option at this stage as Frattesi seeks more game time.

Last week, Forest’s interest in Frattesi ramped up with the two-time European Cup winners requiring a box-to-box midfielder.

Dyche’s side have struggled this season and although they have a seven-point safety net above West Ham United – who are 18th – relegation is still a possibility.

The former Burnley and Everton boss believes Frattesi can help his side move up the table. And with Frattesi’s minutes proving scarce at Inter, a deal is edging closer to completion.

The ex-Sassuolo star will only move on if more time on the pitch is guaranteed. Something of which the Tricky Trees have promised with a spot in Italy’s potential World Cup squad up for grabs.

Who Will Inter Milan Sign In January To Replace Frattesi?

Although the Nerazzurri have shortlisted Enzo Fernandez, the Argentine won’t be leaving Chelsea in the January transfer window. He will come under the radar in the summer.

Defenders have been prioritized this winter but midfield reinforcements are also high on the agenda. If Frattesi does quit for England’s elite, a number of players have been targeted including Ederson and Aleksey Batrakov.

Despite not being a like-for-like replacement, Cagliari loanee Marco Palestra has also been identified. The right-wing back is owned by Atalanta and Cristian Chivu is keen to bring the Azzurri Under 21 ace on board.

Across the backline, a deal for Branimir Mlacic is close to completion. Inter’s interest in Harry Maguire has also gone up a notch due to Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United dismissal.

However, Chivu will be keen to add a central midfielder to fill the potential void from Frattesi. Even though the Romanian is well stacked in the middle of the pitch, a new signing is imperative to maintain his Scudetto push.
