Serie A Sides To Battle MLS and Saudi Arabia For Manchester United Star
Casemiro will leave Manchester United at the end of the season and the Brazilian could be heading to Serie A.
Roma and Napoli are hoping to bring Casemiro to Serie A this summer, but face stiff competition from Saudi Arabia and MLS for the Manchester United star.
Serie A Sides Target Casemiro
The Brazilian international stunned the soccer world on January 22nd, as Casemiro revealed that he will be leaving Manchester United at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Since joining the Red Devils in August 2022, Casemiro has made 147 appearances, contributed to 34 goals (21G + 13A), and won two major trophies (FA Cup and Carabao Cup).
His position in the Manchester United starting eleven is still strong, with the Brazilian making 20 Premier League starts this season and remaining an important player under Michael Carrick.
Casemiro’s contract with the Red Devils expires in June and both parties have decided against the idea of extending the Brazilian’s deal by another season.
The 33-year-old is now on the hunt for a new place to call home and Casemiro has attracted heavy interest from two Serie A sides.
Napoli are on the hunt for a new midfielder due to a major injury crisis as Kevin De Bruyne, Frank Anguissa and Billy Gilmour continue to sit on the sidelines.
Antonio Conte’s position as Napoli manager has come under huge pressure in recent weeks after the Partenopei were eliminated from the Champions League group stages.
The Serie A champions are reportedly ready to offer Xavi the position at the end of the season and the Spaniard could play a part in a deal for Casemiro due to their history in Spain.
However, the Partenopei could face stiff competition from another Italian side as Roma are also interested in bringing Casemiro to Serie A.
The Giallorossi currently sit third in Serie A after an impressive start to the season and could pip Napoli to Champions League qualification – which could be key in a move for Casemiro.
Both Napoli and Roma may be deterred by Casemiro’s huge salary, as the Brazilian is reportedly earning around €21million per year and this could lead the Brazilian to Saudi Arabia.
MLS and Saudi Arabia Leading Race For Brazilian
The Manchester United star has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for multiple seasons, as Casemiro has achieved almost everything possible in Europe.
Multiple star names have made the switch to the Middle East, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante all receiving huge pay rises.
However, the 33-year-old has also been linked with a move to North America and could make a move to MLS after the 2026 World Cup takes place.
Some star names from MLS have been linked with a move to Serie A, with Lazio targeting Obed Vargas and the league will be searching for some big players in the summer.
Inter Miami have been linked with the Brazilian as a Designated Player spot became available following Sergio Busquets’ retirement and LA Galaxy are also keen.
