Reports from Italy suggest Juventus are set to appeal their 10-point penalty once again by referring the case to CONI. The club had previously gone through the same process when they were initially awarded a 15-point penalty, earlier in the year. In that instance, the case was once again referred back to the Court of Appeal, who arrived at their 10-point verdict on Monday.
Tuttosport report that Juve are considering going back to the courts for a sixth round by appealing again to the Collegio di Garanzia del Coni.
First, however, it will be necessary to read the grounds for the verdict, which are expected within ten days after the publication of the operative part.
According to Tuttosport, the deadline for filing an appeal is 30 days from the publication of the grounds of the Court of Appeals’ ruling. Potentially, the newspaper explains, the club could then ask for a shortening of the deadline and even a temporary suspension of the decision: thus regaining the 10 points in the standings while waiting for the ruling of the College.
A complex path, but one that would be technically feasible. First, the grounds are needed. In contrast, the second trial in which Juventus is involved should start on June 15. They will have to defend themselves regarding the salary maneuver for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, relations with some players’ agents, and partnerships with other clubs, unless a settlement can be reached before the hearing.
