Donnarumma: ‘Buffon told me to join PSG’

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has revealed that Gianluigi Buffon influenced his decision to join the club. The Italy international was speaking before his sides 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Buffon famously joined PSG after spending close to 20 years at Juventus and Donnarumma explained to beIN Sport the role his former teammate had in his decision:

“He told me to come here and make history at this club. He clearly helped me make my choice and I’m very happy about it.”

“PSG never let go of me. Coming here was my destiny. I’m very proud to be a part of this club now.”
