Roma Monitoring Gabriel Jesus Situation At Arsenal As Brazilian Remains Unsettled In North London

Start

Roma are reportedly keeping close tabs on Arsenal star, Gabriel Jesus, as the Gunners are looking to offload the Brazilian this summer.

Do Arsenal Want To Sell Gabriel Jesus?

The Arsenal striker has endured a torrid time with injuries in recent years and has left the club with a decision to make as the Gunners look for a consistent number nine.

Jesus signed for the Gunners in July 2022 after a successful spell with Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups and FA Cup.

Since moving to north London, the Brazilian international has made 96 appearances for the Gunners and contributed to 46 goals (26G + 20A) – but has failed to win any silverware.

Despite this fairly respectable return, Jesus suffered a poor 2024/25 campaign that was plagued with injury, missing 20 Premier League matches and suffering a major ACL injury.

Mikel Arteta has been criticised for failing to sign a striker given Jesus’ injury issues, however, the Gunners are still one of the favorites to win the Premier League on the best betting apps.

The half of north London have finished second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons and are calling out for a talisman to lead the line – making that final step towards the title.

So far, Arteta’s side have been linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Dusan Vlahovic, Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, with the latter being the most likely addition.

Adding a new number nine to the roster would make Gabriel Jesus drop further down the pecking order, especially after Kai Havertz returns from injury next season.

Are Roma Interested In Gabriel Jesus?

With Gabriel Jesus’ position at the Emirates in jeopardy, a host of potential suitors will be keeping an eye on what’s next for the Brazilian and Roma are reportedly interested in making a move this summer.

The Rome-based side finished fifth in Serie A last season, qualifying for the Europa League and new manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, will be looking to bolster the squad this summer.

Tammy Abraham is days away from leaving Roma to complete a move to Besiktas and Gasperini is reportedly keen on signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin after the Brit announced his decision to leave Everton.

Calvert-Lewin will be available as a free agent meaning Roma will still have funds to spend this summer and Jesus may cost the club around $20-25m.

This fee has not been finalised, but the Arsenal striker has two-years remaining on his current deal and Arsenal will not be pressured into selling Jesus.
