Fabio Cannavaro set to take over Benevento

Former Juventus, Inter and Italy defender Fabio Cannavaro is set to take over at Benevento as new head coach. The 49-year-old left Guangzhou Evergrande last summer after a four-year stint with the Chinese champions, having lifted a Chinese Super League title and a Chinese Super Cup.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca di Marzio reports that Cannavaro is set to return to management in Italy having agreed personal terms with Serie B side Benevento last night on a four-year contract.

Benevento are currently 13th in the standings which has led to the sacking of Fabio Caserta with Cannavaro set to take over during the international break.
