Fiorentina are on the verge of completing a deal for Andrea Colpani, with the player’s agent working at Viola Park to finalize the agreement. The Serie A club is set to reunite Colpani with his former coach Raffaele Palladino.
Sky sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the transfer is expected to be structured as an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy. Fiorentina will pay a €4 million loan fee, with a €12 million purchase option plus €2 million in potential bonuses. This brings the total potential value of the deal to €18 million, meeting Monza’s asking price.
Colpani’s contract with Fiorentina is reported to be a 1+4 year deal, meaning a one-year initial term with a four-year extension if the purchase option is exercised.
The 24-year-old midfielder had an impressive 2023-24 season with Monza, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 38 Serie A appearances. His performances have caught the attention of several clubs, but Fiorentina appear to have won the race for his signature.
The deal is in its final stages, with Colpani expected to undergo a medical examination with Fiorentina soon. After completing the formalities, he is set to join his new teammates in England, where the squad is currently training.
