Milan striker Olivier Giroud has confirmed that he intends to extend his contract with the Rossoneri and finish his career with them. The 36-year-old has a contract with Milan until June and talks have been underway on an extension since the end of last year.
Speaking to Canal Football Club, Giroud confirmed that he is in talks with the club to continue playing with them beyond the summer:
“I want to renew my contract with Milan . With the scudetto victory, I entered the heart of the Milan fans. I’m talking to the club about the renewal, if there is the possibility of finishing my career at a high level I will do it at Milan.”
The news will come as a huge boost for the Rossoneri as Giroud has been their most reliable striker in recent months. The expectation is that he will remain with Milan for another two seasons and help bed in a young forward who would ultimately be his replacement.
