Giuntoli: ‘I wouldn’t be worried about the future of Napoli’

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli wouldn’t be drawn on his future at the club: ‘I wouldn’t be worried about the future of Napoli with De Laurentiis.’ The former Carpi man was bought to Naples in 2015 and has gone on to become a vital part of their recent successes, including building the Scudetto winning team this season. Speaking with DAZN ahead of Napoli’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina (as quoted by Sky Sport) at the Stadio Maradona, Giuntoli expressed his happiness at finally being able to lift the Scudetto, but refused to commit his future to the club when asked:

“I am very happy. There is no particular image that I will carry in my heart, but a set of indescribable moments that I will always carry with me.”

“Right now I’m trying to realize how extraordinary we have done and enjoy it. Then calmly we will think about the future.

“I’ve been here 8 years, I always hear talk of a cycle, we have changed so many players and have always done well. If I were a fan, I would not be so worried with De Laurentiis as president of Napoli.”
