Higuain’s father announces sons retirement

The father of former Juventus, Napoli and Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain has announced his son plans to retire. The 34-year-old is currently playing for MLS side Inter Miami but his father Jorge has confirmed that Gonzalo plans to hang up his boots in November.

Speaking to TYC Sports, Jorge confirmed his son’s plans for the end of the MLS season:

I don’t think he will return to Argentina, he told me that he will retire at the end of the season.

I’d like to see him in the world of football after the end of his career. He knows a lot about this sport. He has everything to triumph. It will be a shame if he doesn’t continue in football.”

Higuain spent 7 seasons in Italy, famously joining Napoli in 2013 before Juventus paid his buyout clause to bring him to Turin in 2016.
