Inzaghi: ‘Buchanan is a great signing’

Start

Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts on Inter’s 2-1 win over Verona and also praised the recent signing of Tajon Buchanan. The match ended 2-1 at the San Siro with goals from Lautaro Martinez, Thomas Henry and a late winner from Davide Frattesi. Speaking with DAZN, Inzaghi highlighted the importance of digging deep to snatch the victory, while also touching on the arrival of their new winter signing:

“It’s important to win this kind of match. In the possession phase I liked the team but we found a valuable opponent who played a good game at San Siro”.

“We all saw the final few minutes, there was the penalty against and it was a game of suffering. I don’t want to answer Sogliano, I’ve lost games like that too. It happens. At 2-1 in the 94th minute the penalty was right.

“Lautaro I would have taken him off in the final minutes if it had been another game. The pitch is in a really bad condition. I spoke with the club and playing two teams is not easy but at this moment San Siro has great difficulties.

“Pavard is an international player and he’s been working well for 15 days. Cuadrado must be thanked, the club has signed Buchanan; He’s young but he’s already played in a world championship, he has good physical data and for me he’s a very good buy.

“Winter champions? We finished the first round with 48 points but there is another team that is keeping pace. We will need to prepare the second part in the best possible way.”
