Karim Adeyemi, the young German striker who was at the center of January’s transfer window drama, is once again in the spotlight as Juventus sets its sights on him for the upcoming summer transfer window.
Tuttosport (via Calciomercato) report how the 22-year-old Borussia Dortmund forward had previously turned down a move to Napoli, despite the Italian club reaching an agreement with Dortmund for a fee close to €45 million. Adeyemi’s decision to stay put until the summer has now opened the door for Juventus to make their move.
According to the report, Juventus are preparing to renew their interest in Adeyemi, with both the club’s management and coach Thiago Motta expressing admiration for the player. This isn’t the first time the Old Lady has shown interest in the German international; last summer, they had reportedly reached an agreement on contract terms, but were unable to complete a permanent transfer in January.
Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is said to be in constant contact with Adeyemi’s father, laying the groundwork for a potential summer move. The Turin club is hoping to leverage these good relations with the player’s family to gain an advantage in what is expected to be a competitive race for his signature.
Despite having a contract with Dortmund until June 2027, Adeyemi is still considered a potential departure from the German club. Juventus are optimistic about their chances, even though they may need to convince Dortmund with a lower offer than the €45 million previously agreed with Napoli.
However, Juventus will face stiff competition, particularly from the Premier League. Chelsea had shown interest in January, and other English clubs are likely to join the race for the talented forward.
