Lazio president Claudio Lotito spoke to Il Messaggero discussing the club’s transfer market activities and the appointment of Mattia Zaccagni as the new team captain. Lotito expressed confidence in the squad’s potential and the decision to name Zaccagni as captain.
Regarding Lazio’s transfer market, Lotito stated, “We have built a new team with potential suitable for today’s football, have patience. Ours is a true and strong group. We have many players called up by national teams, but I am convinced that all the new arrivals are also of high quality.”
The Lazio president highlighted some individual players, saying, “Have you seen Castellanos’ technique? And now he has even made his debut with Argentina. You always have to give players time to settle in. The same goes for Tavares, have you seen what a player he is? And now you will also see Gigot.”
Lotito particularly praised new captain Mattia Zaccagni, emphasizing his importance to both the national team and Lazio: “He is a national team player and a point of reference for the team. I very much agree with Baroni’s choice.”
