Milan’s leading the race for Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee

Start

Milan are continuing to push to sign  Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee and are reportedly leading the race to sign the Bologna talent. The Rossoneri looks set to announce Paulo Fonseca as their new coach, following his departure from Lille, and will soon focus on the transfer market.

Sky Sport Italia detail how addressing the attacking lineup is a top priority for Milan, especially after the departure of Olivier Giroud, who is headed to Major League Soccer.

Milan’s efforts to secure Joshua Zirkzee have been ongoing, with the 23-year-old coming off the best season of his career with Bologna, where he played a crucial role in securing a spot in the next Champions League. Despite his success, Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman opted not to include him in the squad for the upcoming European Championship in Germany.

Negotiations for the former Bayern Munich, Anderlecht, and Parma forward are progressing. Milan representatives have recently traveled to London for a meeting with Zirkzee’s agent, who resides in England. While the parties are not yet close to an agreement, Milan is diligently working to find common ground regarding salary and agent fees. Zirkzee’s priority remains to stay in the Italian league.
