Orienta Capital Partners are poised to take over as the new majority shareholders of Serie A club Monza. As per reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Orienta, an Italian-based holding company, is on the verge of acquiring a stake greater than 60% in Monza, which would grant them a controlling interest in the club.
The current ownership group, Finnivest, will maintain a minority stake in Monza. Finnivest, a holding company previously led by former Milan owner and ex-Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi, finalized their acquisition of Monza in September 2018, with Berlusconi serving as president until his passing in June 2023.
Berlusconi also brought former Milan CEO and vice-chairman Adriano Galliani to Monza. Galliani currently serves as Monza’s CEO and is expected to continue in his role following the takeover, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
While Orienta Capital Partners’ acquisition of Monza has yet to be finalized, reports on Thursday indicate that negotiations are progressing smoothly and positively.
