AC Milan are continuing negotiations over a new contract for Christian Pulisic, as the USMNT looks to receive a significant increase in pay.

How Much Will AC Milan Pay Christian Pulisic In New Contract?

Christian Pulisic’s future at the San Siro has been called into question during the start of the 2025/26 season, despite the USMNT star’s strong performances so far.

The AC Milan star was supposed to agree a new deal at the start of the current campaign after contributing to 22 goals in 34 Serie A appearances last year (11G + 11A).

Negotiations over a new deal appear to have stalled and these discussions have dropped even further down the clubs’ list of priorities after Pulisic’s recent injury issues.

The 27-year-old suffered a hamstring issue during Milan’s 2-2 draw with Juventus and furthered the injury while on international duty with the United States.

Pulisic recently returned to the matchday squad, but the issue over a new deal continues to surround both AC Milan and the USMNT international.

One aspect of the deal that appears to be a stumbling block is the 27-year-old’s salary in Milan, as Pulisic is reportedly earning around €6.4 million per year.

This tally puts Pulisic outside of the top five highest-paid players in Milan, something that the American wants to change when negotiating a new deal.

Extending the American’s deal is something that may have to wait until next-year, as the Rossoneri are currently looking into possible additions during the January window.

Allegri is hoping to sign a new striker as Santiago Gimenez has failed to impress this season and the Rossoneri are one of four Serie A sides interested in Robert Lewandowski.

Bringing in the Barcelona star may tempt Pulisic into extending his deal in Milan, but the Rossoneri board will need to match the American’s requests.

Who Is The Highest Paid Player At AC Milan?

  • Christopher Nkunku & Adrien Rabiot ( €11.6m)
  • Rafael Leão – (€9m)
  • Luka Modrić – (€7.4m)
  • Youssouf Fofana – (€6.9m)
  • Ruben Loftus-Cheek & Christian Pulisic (€6.4m)

Christian Pulisic joined the red and black half of Milan for €20m in July 2023 after an underwhelming performance with Chelsea in the Premier League.

His reputation across Europe had taken a hit during his time in England, meaning AC Milan were not willing to offer Pulisic a monstrous deal.

Since then, Pulisic has become a key member of the Rossoneri squad, contributing to 63 goals in 109 games (38G + 25A) and winning the Supercoppa Italiana.

These performances have left Pulisic in a position to ask for an increased salary, as there are reportedly five players that are earning more than the USMNT star per year.

Two of Milan’s summer signings take the top spot, as Christopher Nkunku and Adrien Rabiot are reportedly earning €11.6m – translating to €178,000 per week.

The French duo joined the club in the recent summer window, as Rabiot fell out with Roberto De Zerbi and Nkunku failed to cement a place in the Chelsea side.

Another Frenchman in Milan has hit the headlines in recent weeks, as Mike Maignan continues to push for a move in 2026 and Allegri has already targeted three players to replace the want-away goalkeeper.

Pulisic is also further down the rankings in relation to salary than Portuguese star, Rafael Leao, who is widely regarded as one of the best wide players in Europe.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but Leao is under contract until June 2028.

Milan’s midfield duo, Luka Modric and Youssouf Fofana, are both said to be earning a superior salary than Pulisic, but the veteran Croatian only agreed on a one-year deal during the summer.

Pulisic’s exact salary demands have not been confirmed, but the former Borussia Dortmund star is reportedly looking to become the highest paid player in Milan.
