Christopher Nkunku And Robert Lewandowski In Line For Stunning January Swap Deal
Nkunku and Lewandowski are both represented by Pini Zahavi.
AC Milan are aiming to gain an advantage in the race for Robert Lewandowski by offering Christopher Nkunku in return.
That is according to reports from Calciomercato. The publication suggests a swap deal is on the table involving the Milan flop and Barcelona megastar.
If it were to come to fruition, it would certainly be considered one of the strangest-ever January transfers. Especially as Nkunku has endured a difficult time at the San Siro since joining in the summer.

AC Milan Transfer News
With plenty of Serie A suitors for Robert Lewandowski, AC Milan believes they have potentially found a mid-season solution which could help lure the Polish superstar to them over their rivals.
Back in September, it was reported that Milan and Lewandowski’s agent had already held preliminary discussions about moving to the Rossoneri.
Interestingly, Christopher Nkunku has the same representation as the Polish forward in the form of Pini Zahavi. The Israeli has a number of star names on his books and has facilitated a number of huge transfers over the years.
Both clubs will be hoping that Zahavi can weave his magic once more in January. Milan are desperate to add a genuine goalscorer to their ranks with Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez struggling so far in 2025-26.
Will Robert Lewandowski Leave Barcelona?
With Robert Lewandowski entering the final six months of his contract, it’s highly unlikely he’ll pen new terms at Barcelona. Especially owing to his age and vast salary.
The LaLiga champions are aiming to raise funds and shipping off Lewandowski next month instead of the summer would prove financially beneficial.
However, losing a player of his profile and caliber midway through the season could hugely backfire. Lewandowski has chipped in with 10 goal contributions in 12 top-flight games.
Although he is 37, the Polish superstar is still incredibly lethal in front of goal. Hence why AC Milan believe offering Christopher Nkunku as bait can help clinch a deal in January.
As an alternative, Barca have targeted Lautaro Martinez. However, the Inter Milan star will prove very costly and is a more realistic acquisition for the end of the campaign.
Christopher Nkunku’s AC Milan Stats
Having swapped Stamford Bridge for the San Siro in August, Christopher Nkunku has failed to hit the heights expected of him in Italy’s elite soccer division.
Nkunku was the costliest Serie A transfer of the summer but he has failed to score a single league goal so far. That in itself may prove difficult to convince Barcelona to trade Robert Lewandowski for the Frenchman.
Nkunku has played a total of 12 games for AC Milan in all competitions and his only strike came in the Coppa Italia victory over Lecce in September.
Such figures won’t prove tempting from Barcelona’s perspective. However, the option to acquire a forward to fill the Lewandowski void is one that can’t be ignored lightly.
