Ademola Lookman is set to make a huge decision over his Atalanta future after Nigeria’s run in the Africa Cup of Nations comes to an end.

Ademola Lookman To Confirm Atalanta Future After AFCON

The Nigerian international has been linked with a move away from Atalanta for multiple transfer windows and Lookman is set to make a final decision over his future after AFCON.

Lookman is currently away in Morocco with the Nigerian national team after securing a place in the Ro16 and  the Atalanta star has been one of the star performers.

The 28-year-old has contributed to four goals in two appearances so far (2G + 2A), despite being utilized as an unused substitute for Nigeria’s final group stage clash.

During Lookman’s absence, Atalanta have managed to find some consistency under Raffaele Palladino, winning two of their last three games in Serie A.

Most recently, La Dea secured a 1-0 victory over Roma at the New Balance Arena and this result saw Atalanta move up to eighth in the table – just five points away from a European spot.

Qualifying for the Champions League will be key if Atalanta want to keep a hold of Lookman in 2026, as the Nigerian has attracted interest from across Europe.

Napoli have emerged as surprise contenders to sign the 28-year-old following David Neres’ recent injury concerns and the Nigerian has also been linked with a move to Galatasaray.

Atalanta Set Hefty Price Tag On Nigerian Star

Lookman was on the verge of joining Inter Milan in the summer after the Nerazzurri submitted multiple bids for the Nigerian international – but each offer was rejected by Atalanta.

La Dea rejected Inter’s final offer at €45million and this frustrated Lookman as there was a reported agreement between the Nigerian and Atalanta that would allow the player to leave if a bid came in between €35-40m.

Atalanta have claimed that this agreement was only for teams outside of Italy and this price tag has now risen to around €50-60m for 2026.

Liverpool have been linked with the former Premier League star as Juventus target Federico Chiesa, but the Reds are unlikely to spend this amount on a 28-year-old.

Galatasaray are still the front-runners after recently signing another Nigerian international from Serie A in Victor Osimhen and the striker could play a pivotal role in any transfer.

Lookman’s deal in Bergamo does not expire until June 2027 and the 28-year-old is considering a new contract with Atalanta in hopes of securing an increased salary and a release clause.
