Italian Press Rave As ‘True Phenomenon’ Adrien Rabiot Inspires AC Milan To Como Victory
The midfielder scored twice in Milan's crucial 3-1 victory.
Adrien Rabiot was praised by the Italian press after inspiring AC Milan to a crucial 3-1 win at Como.
Adrien Rabiot At The Double As Milan Beat Como
Milan rang the changes but closed the gap on Serie A leaders Inter to just three points after surviving a scare at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
Marc-Oliver Kempf headed Cesc Fabregas’ side into a deserved lead after just 10 minutes, and the Rossoneri would have found themselves further behind if not for a series of stunning stops from Mike Maignan.
But, against the run of play, Milan found a route back into the contest on the stroke of half-time after Rabiot was fouled by Kempf. Christopher Nkunku coolly stepped up to score his fourth top-flight goal of the season.
Maignan made another jaw-dropping stop to deny Nico Paz’s effort, before the visitors ruthlessly completed the turnaround. On 55 minutes, Rafael Leao dinked through Rabiot, who volleyed home into the roof of the net.
Como pressed for an equaliser and came inches away, Paz’s strike from 25 yards cracking against the woodwork.
With two minutes left on the clock, Milan wrapped up the points, Rabiot’s low finish sneaking in the near post.
The midfielder was deservedly given the man of the match award, and the media were equally blown away.

Italian Press Praise Performance
Eurosport gave him an 8/10 rating, writing: “In short, while Maignan saved Milan in goal, he did almost everything outside. Not to mention his valuable work in the first half, and not just as a defensive screen.”
Also dishing out an 8, Virgilio Sport pointed to his relentless work rate, adding: “Never gives up. He revives the Rossoneri at the most crucial moment with a brace.”
A further 8 came from Leggo, who praised him for notching his first brace for the club.
Meanwhile, Il Messaggero, delivering another 8/10 verdict, said: “When he decides to play, he’s not easily stopped. He wins the penalty and scores a brace.”
Tuttomercato described him as “Allegri’s soldier” after a “truly dominant performance”, alongside another 8.
But the most glowing praise came from 11contro11, who gave him a near-perfect 9 rating.
“A dominant performance in every aspect,” they wrote. “He wins duels, steals the ball, and leads the midfield with character. He wins the penalty to level the score and scores a brace like a true phenomenon.
“A fantastic player who perfectly represents his coach.”
Rabiot has been crucial for Milan this season, making 17 appearances and scoring three goals.
However, Youssouf Fofana was poor against Como, leading supporters to brutally tell the club to sell him.
