Three Serie A Sides Offered Marseille Midfielder Adrien Rabiot After Jonathan Rowe Bust Up

The latest Adrien Rabiot transfer news has revealed that three Serie A clubs have been offered the Marseille midfielder. 

Inter, Milan and former club Juventus are the clubs in question after Rabiot was officially transfer listed by the Ligue 1 side on August 19.

Rabiot has only been with OM for one season but his time at the Orange Veldrome is seemingly up. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi wants Rabiot gone before the transfer window shuts.

On Monday, FootItalia reported that Marseille winger Jonathan Rowe was being tracked by Roma. The England Under 21 star was involved in an ugly altercation with Adrien Rabiot after Friday’s loss to ten-man Rennes.

Both players have since been suspended by OM and put up for sale. The exact details of the spat aren’t public knowledge but head coach Roberto De Zerbi isn’t tolerating such behavior.

Rowe is already being tracked but unlike Rabiot, he hasn’t been directly offered to clubs. The France international’s agent has offered the central midfielder to Inter, Milan and former employers Juventus.

The Nerazzurri have been offered Rabiot for €15million. The Rossoneri are reportedly undecided on the 30-year-old as signing a new forward is the priority.

From the Old Lady’s perspective, they are also on the fence about Rabiot. Igor Tudor’s side are putting all their efforts into acquiring Randal Kolo Muani.

Marseille Statement On Adrien Rabiot

On August 19, Marseille delivered a statement confirming that both Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe have been put up for sale with immediate effect.

“Olympique de Marseille announces that Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe have been placed on the transfer list by the club.

“This decision was taken due to unacceptable behaviour in the dressing room after the match against Stade Rennais FC, in agreement with the technical staff and in accordance with the club’s internal code of conduct.

“The decision was communicated to the two players by the club on Monday.”

Adrien Rabiot Controversies

Adrien Rabiot is no stranger to controversies which is likely another reason why Inter, Milan and Juventus are hesitant on signing him.

During his time at PSG, Rabiot was sent off in the 2016 Coupe de la League final against Lille. A game in which the Parisians went on to lose 2-1.

Two years later, Rabiot – alongside Kylian Mbappe – were fined by then boss Thomas Tuchel for turning up late to a pre-match meeting.

In January 2019, Rabiot refused to play for the first team and was therefore forced to train with the reserve roster. In March of that year, Rabiot again hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

He was suspended for a month after been seen in a nightclub after PSG lost 3-1 to Manchester United in a Champions League clash. He then ‘liked’ a social media post from former Red Devil Patrice Evra celebrating the victory.

Rabiot also refused to be on France’s standby list for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after being omitted from the original roster by Didier Deschamps.

He also clashed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic during a friendly clash in 2015. Rabiot later said of the incident: ‘It was not cool of me.’
