The latest Alex Jimenez transfer news has revealed that Milan have rejected an opening offer from Bournemouth for the full-back.
Jimenez has been left out of the Rossoneri roster ahead of Friday’s clash with Lecce owing to disciplinary issues. The 20-year-old is very likely to leave the San Siro before the summer window closes.
A Spanish youth international, Jimenez came from Real Madrid’s academy before making his move to Italy. Last season, Jimenez made 28 appearances in all competitions for Milan.
Alex Jimenez Transfer News
According to reports, Alex Jimenez will not be part of the roster taking on Lecce this evening. Jimenez featured in the MD1 surprise defeat to Cremonese – which Italian soccer icon Fabio Capello slammed.
Although disciplinary issues have been cited, Bournemouth’s pursuit of Jimenez is also a valid reason as to why Jimenez won’t be featuring.
The English Premier League side had an opening offer of €20million rejected on August 29. It’s understood the Rossoneri are holding out for €25m.
Interestingly, Real Madrid have a buy-back clause for Jimenez which was inserted into his original deal to move to the San Siro. However, that will become null and void if the full-back moves on from the Diavolo.
What Serie A Clubs Are Interested In Alex Jimenez?
Bournemouth may be leading the race for Alex Jimenez, but two Serie A sides have also thrown their names into the mix for his signature.
Those in question are Como and Roma. Cesc Fabregas’ side has spent well over €100m already this summer. However, the Spaniard is potentially in the market as a replacement for injured winger Assane Diao.
Although traditionally a full-back, Jimenez can also play in an advanced role like Diao’s. Nonetheless, time is running out from the Lariani’s perspective.
Meanwhile, Roma are looking to add more names to their squad in the coming days. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side has recruited well this summer but the veteran boss wants more new faces through the door.
The Giallorossi will be fighting on three fronts this season so player rotation will be vital if Gasperini is to achieve success at the Stadio Olimpico.
Jimenez is a player that the former Atalanta boss has admired ever since he transferred to Italy. Only time will tell if both Serie A sides will rival Bourenmuth and table bids over the weekend.
