AC Milan Hoping to Complete a Deal For Club Brugge Maestro Ardon Jashari After Launching $35 Million Bid

AC Milan are still in search of their first signing of the summer amid a slew of departures, which should go some way to helping their endeavours in the transfer market. It does, however, appear they are being proactive in their pursuit of Ardon Jashari, with an official bid reportedly tabled.

Who is Ardon Jashari?

Ardon Jashari has attracted bundles of interest from around Europe this summer. Borussia Dortmund had viewed him as the ideal alternative, should the now-successful move for Jobe Bellingham have fallen through, while Manchester City previously held exploratory talks.

The Swiss international is a commanding presence in midfield, often operating as a deep-lying playmaker. The 22-year-old excels at circulating the ball and dictating tempo, but he also combines deep positional play with charging runs through opposition lines, which saw him rack up seven goal contributions last season.

His performances for Club Brugge earned him both the Belgian Pro League Player of the Season and Young Player awards, helping them to a Belgian Cup title along the way.

Jashari’s passing range, positional awareness and all-round ability in midfield has seen him likened to compatriot Granit Xhaka.

AC Milan Make $35 Million Bid For Ardon Jashari

Much of the focus of AC Milan’s summer has, and will continue to be, how many players depart the club.

With Theo Hernandez finally accepting a move to Al-Hilal despite his initial rejection, he will become the ninth player to exit or have loan deals run out.

Although he will no doubt leave a gaping chasm at left-back, Tijjani Riejnders’ move to Manchester City remains Milan’s biggest loss. Shoring up the midfield is a top priority for new manager Max Allegri, who may also have to contend with the potential departure of USA international and Napoli-linked Yunus Musah.

With that in mind, Milan have reportedly tabled an official bid for Ardon Jashari, according to Sky in Switzerland.

The Rossoneri are hoping to close the deal with their initial $35m offer, although given his age and contract length (four years), prying Belgium’s best talent is expected to require a more substantial fee.

Jashari is AC Milan’s top priority in the midfield according to Sky’s Sacha Tavolieri, and the expected fee in excess of $30m for Theo Hernandez should lend a helping hand in getting a deal over the line.

Experts are casting a tentative eye over AC Milan’s rebuild, although the best betting apps put them above Roma and Atalanta in next season’s estimations.
